Summer time is fun time out in the sun. A beach trip with the baby in the guest list needs preparation.To make the trip one of the memorable one, here’s a list of must-have baby gears.

1. Car Window Shade

You need to be cautious of sun’s harsh rays during long drive. As harmful UV rays might turn your baby’s skin red. Therefore, a shaded car window is essential that will keep the baby cool and protected.

2. Hypoallergenic Baby Sunblock

You don’t want your baby to carry home a sun burnt skin. Hence, it is advised to use SPF 30 or higher sunblock with UVA and UVB protection. Allow the sunblock to be absorbed by the skin atleast about 20 to 30 minutes before heading out. Re-apply every two hours since sweat will remove the sunblock. Sunscreen face sticks are suggested as a great choice because they don’t run into the eyes. Spray products are also a good choice, since you don’t have to rub them on the skin of your baby.

3. Swim Rompers with UV Protection

Along with sunscreen, dressing your baby in a cute romper with UV protection is a good choice. These suits give your baby the required protection from sun exposure. While selecting the bathing suits, don’t forget to select the ones which are easy for diaper changing. Don’t miss to see the label for UPF RATING (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) and opt for durable stretch material that resists chlorine and salt water.

4. Sun Hat

Hat is one of the essential items in your list. Choose from a wide range of options like the baseball caps, fishing hats, flowered sunbonnets. They are not only cute but they also keep the sun away from your baby’s sensitive scalp. Try ones with the earflaps to cover. These delicate little parts are missed for any sun protection.

5. Swim Diapers

Swim diapers are better option than normal diapers. Baby can enjoy the water without any worry. Most pools have rules that don’t allow babies to swim in regular diapers. It’s available with everyone’s favorite cartoon characters. All the favorite characters are available to fit infants and toddlers

6. Sunglasses



Direct sun is hard on your baby’s sensitive eyes. Don’t forget to consult your pediatrician or optometrist before buying one for your baby. Go for soft foam frames, Velcro straps for firm fitting and polycarbonate lenses that give maximum protection and safety against sun. Choose the ones which fit well and in fun colors.

7. Light Cotton Infant Gowns with Long Sleeves

For younger babies, gowns are great for keeping the sun off sensitive skin and keeping them cool. When you’re out, you would not want to medal with layers of clothes for a diaper change. Long sleeves help in giving extra protection from the vibrant sun outside.

8. Beach Umbrella

Create your own protective shade with a nice beach umbrella and ensure your baby doesn’t miss out on all the fun. You can also try out some great tents and shades available in the market. Your baby will have a good time on the play mat with all her favorite toys under the beach umbrella.

9. Insulated Diaper Bag

If you pre-mix your baby’s bottles, a well insulated diaper bag is a must. Bottle coolers that hold bottles, can be placed in the insulated diaper bag for more security so that the formula stays nice and cold.

10. Bouncy Seat

Let your baby enjoy the good view of what’s going on around in a bouncy seat. Ensure the straps are on to keep your baby secure. Get one made of a springy frame that allows bounce. Your baby will enjoy the bounce when she moves or when you move it. You can also choose the bouncy seats that are battery powered, so that they vibrate when they are turned on.

11. Play Mat

A play mat with few of your baby’s favorite toys will make your baby feel right at home. These baby play mats come with plenty of fun toys and activities for your baby to enjoy. Select one with appropriate size according to your convenience.

12. Just for Fun
