There is no need to worry about traveling with your 17-month-old baby. You just to have to take care of a few important things and do necessary arrangements so that your journey remains smooth and well-planned. Children especially do not have patience to sit quietly for a long time in the flights and they can disturb the other passengers. Few tips that you can follow while traveling with a child are:

  1. Take some new toys for your child. This will keep him amused for some time. Do not give all of them at once. Show the toys one by one so that your child does not lose his interest. You can also try taking some crayons and coloring books.
  2. If your child takes formula milk, carry the milk powder with you. Do not use the flight’s bathroom water as it can be dangerous.
  3. Some children are not bothered by the pressure change in the flights. If your child has problem, give him something to suck. You can give him a feeding bottle or a pacifier. This will soothe him and there will be no problems.
  4. Always carry enough snacks like puffed wheat, biscuits, cheese, cheerios etc. for your baby.
  5. Carry extra diapers because you never know when you will need them. Carry some additional disposable bags to throw the diapers.
  6. Carry extra set of clothes for your toddler. Don’t forget to carry his blanket.
  7. Always carry some important medicines that you can need during the journey.
  8. The sound of the flight can even make your baby fall asleep, so you can be lucky to complete your journey smoothly.
  9. Always carry some diaper rash creams and hand sanitizers with you.

Engage your child in different activities or tell him a story. Usually, babies are not scared of flight and they can actually enjoy sitting near the window. If your airlines provides you with a bassinet seat, you can make your child sleep in it. Bassinet seat will be comfortable for him. If you wish, you can also carry your car seat in the flight. If you plan properly, you will not face any problem. So, don’t worry and have a happy journey.
