Can someone share about Acetaminophen and its dosage?

Hi there! I am 24 years old and I have been suffering from high fever since tomorrow. One of my friends has suggested me to use acetaminophen. I only know that Acetaminophen is for fever and don't know anything else about this drug. I am relying on people's opinion only. I want to know about Acetaminophen dosage and its side-effects?

First of all I prefer to go for doctor medication. An adult can take up to 4000mg of Acetaminophen dosage per day and for under 18 its up to 2000 mg per day. But a number of factors are responsible for intake of acetaminophen dosage including: age, particular acetaminophen product, alternate medications you may be taking and medical conditions you may have.

I want to take tour of Acetaminophen dosage side effects which are not limited, Nausea and vomiting, Appetite loss, Sweating, Diarrhea, Irritability, Abdominal pain, especially near the liver (the upper right part of the abdomen), Yellow eyes or skin, Liver failure, Kidney failure, Heart problems, Coma, Seizures and at last loss of life. I want to tell you that ulcers or bleeding in the digestive tract can occur with acetaminophen, although it is less common for Acetaminophen than for other non-prescription pain relievers.

Acetaminophen dosage regular-strength (325 mg) two tablets every 4 to 6 hours as needed, not to exceed 12 tablets in 24 hours. Extra-strength (500 mg) acetaminophen: Two tablets every 4-6 hours as needed, not to exceed 8 tablets in 24 hours and Extended-release acetaminophen: Two tablets every eight hours, not to exceed six tablets in 24 hours.

I recommend doctor prescription first then Acetaminophen dosage for you. Get well soon!
