How a baby comes in the womb?

My wife is pregnant and when I told this to my son that you are going to become brother as your sister is in your baby womb and she is going to come in our family soon then, he asked me that how my sister has entered in mother’s womb. I was speechless that time when he asked this question as I don’t know that what to tell him? I don’t want to make any false story as I hate lairs. So, tell me that what should I say to my son?

I would like to explain you the fact that the tactics to answer this question is to find out what exactly your child wants to know. Make sure that you answer them in a manner that is suitable for his age. For an illustration, a two year old child might simply want to know that from where you got his new baby brother; on the other hand an elder child might want to know how the baby got in there, which may not always mean how it got in there. You can get a clear idea about the understanding level of your child by asking a couple of questions to him. This will help you determine what their level of understanding about the whole pregnancy thing and what they actually wish to know. Keep in mind that when answering your child, you really need to be aware of the words you are using. The questions which you can expect from a child would be “where does the food go while the baby is there?”, and “does the baby eat your food too?” Beware of using the wrong phrases as it can actually scare children. Being honest to the child is the best policy. Don't be afraid to tell the child that you want some time to think about a good answer for him or her. Be patient and try to understand your child to solve his queries in the most efficient manner.
