Caring for aging parents!

My mother is now becoming old, I am not going to send them off to an aging home or anything like that. I just want to know what are the things you can do for aging parents? Are there places where they can spend time for like the day which would help keep them occupied? My children are at school most of the time and my wife and I are working. My mother stays with us and I hate to see her have nothing to do. She has a couple of friends in the neighborhood, but I do not think she hangs out much. Could you tell me about some fasciitis which are available for older people? Should I get a pet into the house so she has someone?

Love begins at home, and it is not how much we do... but how much love we put in that action, said Mother Teresa.

More than anything else, any aged parent needs is love.  A pinch of your love can word wonders and make your parents much, much happier.   You need not worry as to how my mother will spend her leisure time. Well, provide her with good book if you can as books are person’s best friends. Getting pets is also a good idea. But then pets bug their owners often without any reason besides spoiling the homes.

You can ask your  relatives  or your parent’s friends to come down and stay at your home for some days in order to see quick curve on her face.  Most importantly, as you return from office take time to touch and talk to your parent. They don’t expect more than that from you.   Talk to  your parents about their health, advise them to eat on time, give them some devotional books and video cassettes.

During the weekends, try to break your stress-not by partying-but by spending the entire day with your mum and dad. This will surely work out and your parents will feel very blessed for getting a son like you.
