Child Advil for a 1 year old

My friend called me up the other day because his child had fever, and he was recommended ‘Child Advil’ medication. Is this medicine affective, is it really good enough. My child is 1 year old, and now she has fever, do you think I should give it to her? What age of children take Advil? Should I reconsider and take her to a doc or should I just give her the medicine. The fever is not too high, right now it is at a 100.2 degrees. My wifes not around at present, normally she used to handle the sick baby. I am completely lost.

It can cause some serious problems like heart attack. If your child is already facing some heart problem and especially a bypass heart surgery, then it will be very dangerous for her. If your child is allergic and have breathing problem don’t give your child Advil. First take the advice from a good pediatrician. Advil comes in a suspension form for children and also is a NSAID. Child Advil is basically used to cure common cold and flu, throat infection, any type of ache like headache or toothache, and to reduce fever. Only a doctor can suggest you the dose of child Advil so please consult any doctor that you have to give child Advil to your 1 year old child or not. It only reduces the symptoms of inflammation and pain not cures the cause of the disease. Avoid giving child Advil when already taking some other medication. Don’t give it to your baby when she has a kidney problem or liver disease, diabetes.
