What is the dosage of benadryl for babies?

Hi, I am 27 years old and mother of a child. My child is 2 years old. My child is pretty healthy and I give him the best possible nutrition. I have one problem which has brought me to this platform. My child has been suffering from cough and cold for two days now. I want to give him benadryl as I have used it myself. I want to know the dosage of benadryl for babies?

Well, I really wish that your child gets well soon. There is a site from where I have searched about the dosage of benadryl for babies. This site is called babyzone. I can help you with the dosage but I would still recommend you to take advice from doctor because this site clearly suggests to take doctor's advice for children below two years old. As far as dosage are concerned, for the two year old, the dosage is 3/4 tsp of benadryl allergy liquid, also 3/4 tsp of benadryl dye free allergy liquid and 3/4 tab of benadryl allergy chewables. There are so many side effects of benadryl like allergic reaction like difficulty in breathing, closing of your throat, swelling of your lips, tongue, or face or hives. So, I would suggest you to not take any chances with your child and take him to the doctor as soon as possible. There are also many sites that you can go to for advice like babyzone, askdrsears, babble, drugs, stlouischildrens.org etc. Once again I would like to wish that your baby gets well soon.
