Can someone tell what early labor is like?

I only know the text-book information about the three stages of labor. What was your early labor like? I've had Braxton hicks on and off for several weeks. Did contractions hit you like a meteor, or was there a gradual build-up? What is your count on this?

I would like to share with you facts about an early labor. As you are expecting, there might be a number of worries that are always running in the mind. It is a natural phenomenon that once your contractions begin arriving at regular intervals; the cervix begins to progressively dilate. This process is known as early labor. It is also true that unless the labor commence, you will gradually experience regular contractions. Now, it becomes really tough to determine than when the actual labor will begin. You need to be very much aware about your due date. In case you are not yet 37 weeks pregnant, but still experience contractions, then it is highly recommended to see a gynecologist so that you can be sure about the actual situation. You will notice that during early pregnancy, contractions gradually become longer and stronger. A true labor experience is very much different from an early labor. The early labor contractions are quite painful and may even act as a hindrance in the regular activities. This process ends when the cervix gets approximately four centimeters dilated.
