Can someone elaborate on height and weight chart for toddlers?

My baby is 20 months old and I am really enjoying this phase of motherhood. Recently, my friend who is also a mother of 3 years old kid, advised me to get a height and weight chart for my toddler. I am quite perplexed as I don't know what would I do with this chart, moreover, I am not sure of using it for a 20 months old baby! I would really want to know about this height and weight chart and its utility for my toddler. Please someone elaborate!

I will be glad to help you regarding your query regarding height and weight chart for toddlers as even I have bought one. I have a 15 month old baby, so I had bought it. It is a useful tool to ascertain the height and weight of children according to their age and gender which in turn helps give an idea to the parents about how their children are growing. Standard baby charts will not be based on the "average" breastfed baby as most of the percentile graphs and growth charts are not specific for breastfed babies unless it is otherwise stated.

Your baby has his or her own growth pattern chart and a healthy growth pattern for a baby continues to be in a steady upward curve.

The World Health Organization relies on the premise that human breast milk proves to be the best for both healthy growth and cognitive development in a child. Breastfed babies are often the leaner babies and the newer graphs reflect this natural fact in the new growth curve particularly in the first six months of life and rapid growth.

The new growth curves is intended to provide a single international standard that usually stands for the best measure of growth for all children from their birth to five years of age. I hope this information can inform you sufficiently on the function of height and weight chart.
