Are any birthmarks harmful to the baby?

At times, most of the parents think that maybe a 'birthmark' harms the baby but actually this is not the case neither it results coz of some birth trauma. Instead, it is the case of some skin change in humans. The only difference between a mole on your skin and one on your baby's is that the baby's developed in the uterus.

Commonly the birthmarks are termed, as 'stork bites', which could be pink, red, blue, brown, yellow or black in color.

One thing is very clear that these birthmarks do not pose any serious threat or disease instead, they tend to fade away over a passage of time.
