Christina came to this world on Saturday as a two months premature baby girl born to a woman who was declared brain dead by the doctors and was kept alive artificially for months in Milan Hospital.
The doctors planned an emergency C-section when 38 year old mother's blood pressure suddenly started to drop and the fetus displayed heart beat problems, and soon the baby was smiling in the world and weighed approximately 1.5 pounds.
After a few hours of the birth, the life support system that kept the women alive since march were removed and her kidneys and corneas were donated.
A few hours after the birth, the machinery artificially keeping her alive was shut off. The woman's kidneys, liver and corneas were donated.
