Seemingly educative world of internet has many a times revealed its true sense in shape of a luring monster that's all set to gulp down its smallest of users by appearing to them as their best pal.

Off lately, a survey conducted in Ireland, on the Internet usability among the 9-16 years old once again exposed that most of the kids of this age use Internet for making online pals, through various chat rooms and pal communities. Something that adds to the astonishment of these kids is the fact that these pals are most of the time adults who are there just to play with the innocence of these kids and leave them suffering all the life, mentally and sometime physically as well.
Here are a few facts that emerged out of the survey, conducted on 850 kids:
> More than half of the kids had the least of interaction with parents about their online activities.
> 27% agreed to have met someone who asked them for photographs, phone number and address.
In a scene like this, parental supervision becomes really important. Parents must make it a point to know what their kid is doing online, who all are on his friends list and what kinda IM lingo is he using'or your kid might also have to face grave circumstances like many kids.
