Finger Foods For Babies

Hey can you tell me what are finger foods for babies. I have never heard of such a thing before, but it sounds adorable. Are they foods in finger length, like fish fingers or French fries? Or is it just something kids can eat with their fingers. My baby’s food goes everywhere but in the stomach. Would finger foods be tasty in intriguing enough for him to put it into the mouth instead of feeding it to the floor? He has already been weaned of breast milk about a month ago. Could you please tell me how the finger foods help? What can I do in order to have my child eat his food?

A kid when able to eat food with his fingers it is known as finger food. There is no need to give them purees and blended food in this stage. They start to pick the food from their small fingers. Self feeding is very much important for a baby. You can help him to feed with spoon but most of the times try to encourage him for finger feeding. It will enhance his skills of eating food and healthy eating habits. Avoid finger foods that are harmful for the health of your baby like raw vegetables and fruits, nuts, dry fruits, whole fruit can choke his throat, whole sausages, big piece of meat, pop corn should be avoided. Give him food that easily melts in his mouth. Instead of giving raw vegetables give him well cooked vegetables. You can give him cheese to eat. Avoid giving him whole fruit, cut it into small pieces then give him to eat.
