Healthy home-made candies for your kids

Candies are every child’s best friends! There is hardly a child who doesn’t like to pamper his sweet tooth with candies and no matter how many candies you buy, the kids can never have enough of them. If a candy is what it takes to spread the hugest smile on your child’s face then it is always a good idea for mothers to have a few easy candy recipes up their sleeves. This will not only help them save a lot of money but will also ensure that there are plenty of sweet treats at home for the children to indulge in!

You will be surprised to know how easy it is to prepare home-made candies. You do not need to have great culinary skills or too many ingredients to prepare a nice assortment of candies. Butter, honey, chocolate, sugar, crackers and some other things that are usually available at home are all you need!

Rock Candies:

The most basic candy that you can prepare anytime is the classic rock candy. To prepare them all you have to do is to add two cups of granulated sugar to a cup of boiling water and keep on heating until the sugar does not melt completely. Next, you must allow the mixture to cool down and when it has settled make crystals of the desired size out of the cooled mixture. You can make many of these rock candies at the same time and enjoy it with your children!

Nature’s Candy Bar:

This chocolaty delicacy is going to blow away the mind of every child. To make these bars the first thing that you have to do is to melt some chocolate and coconut oil into a smooth mixture. Roll out some dates with a rolling pin and dip them into the smooth mixture such that the date in completely enveloped in chocolate. Sprinkle some orange zest as a topping and harden these bars in the refrigerator.

Caramel corn:

You can make this mouth-watering sweet treat without putting any effort! Just make a nice caramel out of butter, honey and rapadura and pour it over freshly popped popcorns and put the candied pop-corns in the oven for about forty five minutes for the caramel to harden. Make sure that when you are preparing the caramel you don’t forget to add some baking soda and Vanilla to it.

These home-made candies are easy on the pockets and they are healthier as well. Give your child a sweet childhood with these sweet treats!
