How do you think overbearing strict parents effects the children?

I am doing a project assignment that deals with the pros and cons of having strict parents. Also I am trying to find out the effects of strict parents on the children. Help me out with my project. Tell me how do you think overbearing strict parents effects the children, is it for their good that the parents should behave strictly or is it much better to handle the problems of the day to day life of the children in other ways for the children's better overall development.

Over bearing strict parents sometimes make it difficult for their child to make them be adult and react them in their own way to different situations accordingly. To have an opnion of your own. It affects your relationship with your mate, lover or partner. since you are scared to speak out for you, so you end up being a door mat. The way I see it, from experience the mind is kind of fragile.

Overbearing parents sometimes make the life of their child miserable. Every child in such situation needs to find the world on his own, they would rather like to experience things, observe it, and learn how to deal with happiness, sadness, sharing, dilemma and all the lessons you learn while you face different things in life. Emtionally you can not develop into a strong and well balanced person if your parents are shadowing you from everything. This can not be called as pampering, as a teenager will never ever like to get pampered..it sometimes may just go wrong and turn out to be scary if the child attempts anything that carries worst results and consequences. It makes them rebel because they always doubt themselves. Excessive strictness may just cause a lifetime effect on the child. So these are all negative side effects of overbearing parents. Thank you
