How to choose the best toddler toys?

I am a first time father, my toddler is looking for new toys despite having a plenty and now i have decided to buy my kid some toys that will not only keep him entertained but help him in his mental growth, am i doing the right thing. Please tell me how to choose the best toddler toys and how should i know it will not harm my kid. Please guide me.

Giving the right and the best toddler toy to your baby is an important part of parenting. The toys are very cute but sometimes become quite dangerous for a toddler. For a toddler, it is important to choose a toy which is fun, safe and enjoyable. You have to ensure about the safety of your baby all the time especially when they play with any toy. The toys should meet with all the safety standards. The toy you choose for the baby should be unbreakable with no sharp edges. Should not give your child a toy with small parts in it because he can swallow the part or stick it into his nose. Strings of toy should not be longer than 7 inches. You should avoid the toys that contain lead. You should avoid purchasing electric toys for your baby. The toy should be for fun as well as it should be educational. It should be interactive so that it can teach your baby about the colors, textures and rhymes or poems.
