Is there a law which says that you cannot beat a girl child?

Is it ok for parents to beat their girl child in childhood? Do you think beating any child to teach them responsibility and discipline is feasible? I think it should not be allowed. Sadly the child would not know, because they would think it is normal and that is what parents do. How are the children rescued from such parents? I mean a slap or two is ok. But being hit by either a belt or a cane or something or being bashed up is insanity. What do guys think let me know.

Hi, just like you, I also think that beating insensibly a girl child or any child for the sake of responsibility and discipline is just not acceptable . Indeed it is necessary to teach them some lessons so that they can grow up properly in life. A little bit of red eye and a slap or two are just enough for this. In my childhood I also had little bit slapping from my father for wrong doings. But can't remember a single instance where I was beaten up quite badly. Mother has never beat me but she used to teach lessons of life by talking sensibly to me. As pressure of every day's work is becoming unbearable parents of today are also becoming quite restless. It is often seen that they are loosing temperament quite easily and start beating up the child on a simple matter. This kind of beating is making the child more insolent rather than obedient. This kind of things are also can be said for schools and teachers of today's also.

Yes, there is a federal law called The Federal Child Abuse Prevention And Treatment Act (CAPTA) by which children can be rescued from demonic parents. The law provides a broad minimum definition of child abuse. Besides, it defines abuse relating to a failure to seek medical treatment and sexual abuse. If you need you can have more details about this law from a seasoned lawyer. Thanks.
