Hi, just like you, I also think that beating insensibly a girl child or any child for the sake of responsibility and discipline is just not acceptable . Indeed it is necessary to teach them some lessons so that they can grow up properly in life. A little bit of red eye and a slap or two are just enough for this. In my childhood I also had little bit slapping from my father for wrong doings. But can't remember a single instance where I was beaten up quite badly. Mother has never beat me but she used to teach lessons of life by talking sensibly to me. As pressure of every day's work is becoming unbearable parents of today are also becoming quite restless. It is often seen that they are loosing temperament quite easily and start beating up the child on a simple matter.
