I am pregnant and I am so much happy as I and my husband were waiting for this day from a long time. I want to take all safe steps. I want to eat healthy diet and don’t want to do anything that will harm my fetus. I want to know that my pregnancy health is normal or not? So tell me that how can I know this?

Now she is pregnant so now it's more important than ever to watch. Of course, everyone-your doctor, family, friends, coworkers and even complete strangers, give you tips on what should and should not do during pregnancy.

But staying healthy during pregnancy only depends on you, so it is essential to educate yourself about the many ways to take care of your health and the health of your baby during pregnancy.
Medical Tests

The key to protecting the health of your baby is in regular prenatal checkups. If you think you may be pregnant, make an appointment with your health care professional that you want to monitor your pregnancy. The first review should be made as to believe that may have become pregnant.

In the first prenatal exam, the health professional that you have chosen will probably do a pregnancy test and estimate how many weeks is based on physical examination and the date of your last period. Use this information to predict the date of delivery (however, the ultrasound that will make the pregnancy is more advanced help confirm that date).

If you are healthy and no risk factor that may complicate pregnancy, probably enough to simply do prenatal testing:

Every four weeks until the 28th week of pregnancy thereafter, every two weeks until the 36th week of pregnancy and then once a week until delivery.

During pregnancy, the health professional to monitor their pregnancy weigh you, take your blood pressure while evaluating the growth and development of the baby (feeling the abdomen, measuring your belly, listening to the fetal heartbeat from the second trimester of pregnancy). Throughout the pregnancy, may also perform various prenatal diagnostic tests, including blood and urine tests, scans the cervix and probably at least one ultrasound.

If you have not yet chosen a health professional to advise and treat during pregnancy, you can choose among several alternatives:

Obstetricians / gynecologists (doctors who specialize in pregnancy and childbirth, other than in paragraph female reproductive health of women in general).
Family Physicians (doctors who provide a wide range of services to patients of all ages, sometimes including obstetrics).
Nurse-CMs (nurses specializing in the health needs of pregnant women, including prenatal care and care during labor and delivery and postpartum care for pregnancies without complications). There are other types of midwives, but you should always choose one that can prove their training and specialization in this field.

Any of these options can be a good choice if you're healthy and there is no reason to anticipate possible complications during pregnancy. However, nurse-midwives have to be able to get to a doctor in case unexpected problems arise during labor or need a Caesarean section.
