Is it possible to be pregnant but not feel the baby?

My wife is wondering if she could get pregnant but does not sense the child within. Is it possible to be pregnant but no baby felt? Should I take her to the doctor, I can see her feeling sick and I have noticed the symptoms of pregnancy in her. She has been feeling like this for the past 2 weeks. She even took the pregnancy test and it tested positive. She just does not feel the same way she did when her first child was born. She knew there was something growing in her, but now it is like she just feels the symptoms and nothing else. Please help!

If your wife’s pregnancy test is positive, it is a sure indication that she is pregnant. A woman can feel the movements of her baby in the womb almost after 15-18 weeks of pregnancy or later in some cases. Fetal movement cannot be felt in the initial months of pregnancy. In some cases, movements can be felt after completion of the first trimester of pregnancy.

Normally, the movement of the baby in the womb starts after 7-8 weeks of pregnancy, but the mothers cannot feel it in most cases. She may feel the symptoms of something growing inside her womb. After 7-8 weeks, the baby in the womb starts bending on one side. After 9 weeks, the baby can suck and swallow, move one of his or her arms and legs and hiccups. These movements are not noticeable unless the mother undergoes an ultrasound scan. Within 11-14 weeks, the baby is able to yawn, move his or her eyes and start kicking and thumping.

With the passing of each week, the movements can be felt through occasional kicking and turning of the baby in the womb. These movements are prominent after completing the 20th week of pregnancy. The intensity of the movements increases in the advanced stages of pregnancy. You will experience more kicks and somersault movement of the growing baby.

Going by your query it appears that it may be too early for your wife to sense the movements of the growing fetus. Since she had been pregnant once, you can take her to the doctor to clear her doubts. The doctor may advise for an ultrasound scan and get a clear picture of the movements of the developing fetus.
