From last few days I am not felling well and there is lots of pain in my body. Maybe I am getting my periods and I am just getting paranoid. What I want to understand is, that how can I be getting my periods when I am pregnant. I have been pregnant for a month now. I know what spotting is and this bleeding is definitely not similar to spotting. This is making me worried all the time. do these spotting means miscarriage? Should I consult about this to my doctor?

This is often considered a myth to be pregnant and still have your period. Women often confuse the vaginal bleeding as their period because that is what they have seen so long. In case you are pregnant for a month and bleeding, then it is a vaginal bleeding! This is a frequent occurrence and a great misconception.

You cannot have your period while you are pregnant because both of these functions cannot occur at the same time. If you are pregnant and begin to menstruate, certainly you would lose the pregnancy or might be having a miscarriage. So, it is usually vaginal bleeding that women confuse as their periods.

Bleeding during pregnancy, as in the first trimester, is frightening, but luckily it usually doesn't always seem to signal a problem. It is also often common among women. There are a few common causes of first-trimester bleeding, which are not problematic. Sometimes bleeding occurs when the embryo tries to attach itself to the wall of the uterus. Early pregnancy bleeding is caused by hormonal changes in the body caused due to the pregnancy. But, any other kind of bleeding than those mentioned above, you should visit the doctor. The reason is it might be a miscarriage or even an ectopic pregnancy in the fallopian tube which is dangerous both for the mother and the child.
