There are various ways through which you can prevent your pregnancy. These include:-

1. Diaphragm- A diaphragm is sometimes known as the female condom. It consists of a rubber circle which is inserted into vagina and it covers the cervix. It must be used with a spermicide in order to be completely effective.

2. Oral contraceptives- This type of contraceptives have been used in various forms since it first appeared in market in 1960s. Many people credit it’s introduction with the widespread changes in societal norms concerning women and sex.

3. Depo-provera- Depo is similar to the pill in that it uses the hormones to prevent ovulation. The benefit of using this is that instead of having to remember to take a pill every day you will get an injection.

4. Implants- Some common brand names include- Norplant and Implanon. The implants consist of small rods of about an inch and a half long which are implanted by your doctor or a gynecologist under your skin in an out of way place such as your bicep.

5. IUD- The IUD stands for Intra Uterine Device. This method of finding out as to how to prevent pregnancy is a bit of a cross between a female condom and an implant. Your family doctor or a gynecologist can inserts this small device into your uterus. Hope this helped!
