Baby can often cry for any reason I read your query and the fact that your 4 month old baby has suddenly started crying regularly without any reason and not taking up either food or water most probably leads me towards the fact that he may have developed a baby thrush inside his mouth which may be causing him the pain due to which he is reluctant on taking either food, milk or even water. Please understand that this is just a idea as per the information available and the real reason behind the crying baby can only be found once the baby is fully diagnosed. Other than this you can also try to find out if there is something that is making him uncomfortable. Yes I can understand your problem, my first advice to you would be to take him to the doctor to confirm any possible disease that may be causing problems to him. If you want to make primary check at home, check if there is any sort of white patches inside the cheeks of your baby. Now the best thing you can do in such case is to provide a soothing experience to your crying baby just to calm him down. You can provide him something to suck on or just snuggle or swaddle.Even music and rythms helps baby stop crying, carry him around for a small walk or just give him a smooth massage. All these ideas will somehow for sure bring relief to your baby. If you are still unsatisfied you can visit this link. http://www.parents.com/baby/care/crying/smart-solutions-for-soothing-baby/
