How to stop my child from being a cry baby?

I live in England and my baby cries at night he is about 7 month old,I try to calm him but sometime he is sick and cries nonstop, the wall are very thin and I really do not want to invite any trouble with my neighbors. I am afraid if my child would grow up to become a cry baby?

You need to understand the fact that on an average, newborns cry for about two hours in a day which can be even higher in some cases involving infants. While the crying is distributed through the day, sometimes the child doesn't stop crying because of something causing discomfort. I would suggest you to first check whether he is bothered by anything causing discomfort or does he react like this every time. When the child is ill he may cry louder and for longer but that should not be understood as a sign of cry baby. As you said he could be a little more sensitive than other babies which you will get to know with passing time. I believe your neighbors wil understand that crying is just a natural phenomenon for a 7 month baby and they should not overreact to it.Here's one suggestion I feel would help you.You first put your baby into an infant carrier on the floor.Don't cover his face full and let him have proper view of the surroundings. I feel it won't take your baby much time to understand that he is safe and he doesn't require to cry for that sake.Try to analyse the reason behind his crying and then only you can reach a distinct solution. So now onward try this suggestion and please take this thought out of your mind that your baby is a cry baby. If you are still not satisfied with my suggestion it becomes important for you to consult a child physician.
