Sudden Dizziness During Pregnancy!

Is it ordinary to feel a sudden dizziness when you are pregnant? I have felt it a couple of times.  I am starting to get worried now. I know some of the causes of feeling dizzy is because of me getting up to fast, I believe someone should not be doing that when pregnant. I am still exercising a lot; I am just about 3 weeks pregnant. I used to have a low appetite, but now I am building up to eating more. Can you tell me what other reasons could be there for feeling dizzy and what I should do to prevent it? I hate having to feel the room suddenly spin.

It is more common in the first trimester, but it may also be prevalent throughout your pregnancy.</span></span><span class="apple-style-span"><span style="font-size: 8.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; color: black; mso-themecolor: text1; font-weight: normal; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;"> During pregnancy, blood volume increases thirty percent. Conversely, lung capacity decreases five percent. This can cause symptoms of shortness of breath and occasionally dizziness as well.</span></span><span style="font-size: 8.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; color: black; mso-themecolor: text1; font-weight: normal; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;"> Common causes<span class="apple-converted-space">&nbsp;of dizziness are:</span></span><span class="apple-style-span"><span style="font-size: 8.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; color: black; mso-themecolor: text1; font-weight: normal;"> 1. lying on your back-</span></span><span class="apple-style-span"><span style="font-size: 8.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; color: black; mso-themecolor: text1; font-weight: normal; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">In your second and third trimesters</span></span><span class="apple-converted-space"><span style="font-size: 8.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; color: black; mso-themecolor: text1; font-weight: normal; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">&nbsp;your</span></span><span class="apple-style-span"><span style="font-size: 8.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; color: black; mso-themecolor: text1; font-weight: normal; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;"> growing uterus can slow down blood flow in your legs by compressing the inferior vena cava and the pelvic veins. Avoid rising or moving too quickly. If you get up too fast the blood in your body will pool in your feet and legs. This can help contribute to dizziness or faintness</span>.2. Get out of bed slowly. Many women feel dizzy or faint first thing in the morning when rising out of bed. Again your best bet here is to take things slowly</span>.3. Get plenty to eat and drink. Sometimes dizziness or faintness simply results from not eating <span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 11px; line-height: 12px;">enough.</span></span></p>
