To become a father is really difficult thing especially if you are trying to become super dad from step dad. The very first thing you should think on is best for your children and willingness to sacrifice something’s that can give them best. Try not to keep worrying continuously of whether you are doing is right or will it affect the children. The more important thing is to mange everything properly so that they can be happy; otherwise worry will never leave you. If you don’t do your responsibilities in proper way, surely society will question your parenting skills.
1. Spending quality time
The very first thing you should do to become a super dad is to spend some time by watching cartoon or TV shows like tyke. This doesn’t mean that you have to share a same room or be in the same room while watching your children enjoying. You can also try interaction by talking with your child for some time every day. It can be any source may be by playing games with him or her, or while reading a paper. What matters is you sitting with your child and spending some quality time with him or her.
2. Be alert
Most of the men are self centered and don’t noticed important things. In case of your children, you should not carry such attitude. Be alert with what is going on with them especially in new surroundings. Look around and know some action which can be used for making harmony.
3. Make room for trust
Trust is very important factor no matter what relation it is. In case of father and children relation, trust is the important thing. This kind of attitude your children might take some time to accept. The harsh truth is that you are not their father but best part is that soon you will become their father. You must make sure that you maintain proper communication with the kids. Don’t try to act like their father but treat them in fatherly way. Even if their biological father is still in the picture, you have to make sure that you create your own identity in from of them. You must show them that you respect their mother and not going to cheat her or the family in any way. Show them your willingness to become their father by letting them know that you are not going to harm them in any way.
4. Keep trying
Always keep try. Don’t get dishearten or lose your hopes of becoming a cool dad. Ty to do such thing it can be hard sometimes. Things like not showing favoritism to children or children that can come in future. Make them comfortable by ensuring that your step child knows that they are valued and loved member of the family and are not second best.
5. Reliability
Communication and reinforcement are something you should never forget. These two things are said to be the first opportunity for you to come closer to the kids. You have to keep in mind that if the child real father is still in touch with them, then your child may be facing a loss. This loss can be biological parent leaving the family home or no longer living under the same roof. Whatever the situation try talking to them and be remember it is sensitive issue and reinforcement that your kid need to have a stable life in future.
6.Take wise decisions
Don’t rush behind impressing the kids. There can be situations where kids and don’t agree on something. At such point of time fight or arguments can worsen your situation. This is the time to make decisions wisely and re access what is happening.try going for some counseling and get some tips. It’s better to get wise advice on handling step parenting issues before they break up the family.
7.Unity
A sense of unity is important factor which you should never forget. No matter how much ever you fight it is necessary to stay nited with kids.
You must support each other, try not going against each other, back each other up, or not to allow yourselves to be played against each other. By showing that you and your kid are on the same page will show your child that you are both serious about the relationship, strong as a couple.
Depending on your current situation, don’t rush all of a sudden. Something may not work as planned but that doesn’t mean you should lose hope. The key is to give kids some time and keep trying till you see something positive. Just because you fall at first instance does not mean you cannot finish the game. To be a good step father is not only possible but is one rewarding thing you can do as a person. With proper care and raising someone else child is not an easy job, but you can do it with perseverance.
