Tips to make your kid eat healthy food

83252903

It is natural that whatever is tasty cannot be necessarily healthy for you. In addition, since very few adults actually follow the trend of healthy eating, it is but obvious that kids will definitely not take to healthy eating very easily.

However, the trick is to make even the most boring, but healthy foods appealing to the kids and hence set a new trend in healthy eating. This of course is not going to be a very easy task. With the kind of junk food that is so easily available and their favorite heroes endorsing caffeine based soft drinks and their peers gorging on pizzas and burgers versus your veggies and fruity smoothies.

Making it Appealing

The first challenge is to make your kids like and take to healthy eating. Start with involving your kids in the process of preparing food. Do not try to engage your kids in lecturing about veggies and refrain from forcing them to eat it. Rather, make a game out of it. You can always start by acting like vegetable, making funny faces and interesting voices.

On the other hand, refer to Popeye the Sailor Man and trust me, your kid might just take to spinach as many others all over the world.

Another idea would be to name veggies dishes after their favorite singers or actors and of course cartoon characters. For girls, reference to Barbie Salads will work and boys will absolutely lap the ideas of Spiderman smoothies.

Setting a Trend

Another thing, which works, for kids to take on healthy eating is that you will have to set an example in front of him. For your kids to eat their veggies, their pieces of fish and of course milk, it is important that you do the same in front of them and encourage other adults in your house to do the same.

After all, kids always try to act like a grown-up and will do things, which will make them seem so.

Another way to make your kids engage in healthy eating is to start developing a habit and liking for healthy eating. Train your kids to eat their cucumber salads early, sit back, and enjoy.

In addition, learn to disguise those veggies well. Puree them, stuff them in snacks and make something interesting.

However, do not be a total evil taskmaster. Do let your kids have their fun at times and have a slice of pie, have some monthly burgers and shakes as well.
