What are the ways of treating baby rashes?

I am here to share and discuss my baby’s condition. He is 5 years old and having intense itching since last week on his arms and legs skin. Later, I found some rashes which were fluid filled and bumpy. I think he is having infection. I want to learn from people about the ways of treating baby rashes?

Rashes are a common problem often faced by babies. Baby rash can either be itchy or painful. But mothers need not worry as there are several ways to treat baby rashes. Firstly use mild, baby laundry detergent. Harsh products are likely to cause irritation to baby’s sensitive skin. Clean the baby with a mild, hypoallergenic cleanser and not a standard soap. Keep baths shorter and always use warm water and not hot. In order to prevent diaper rash, change them early and often. Prolonged contact with poop and pee, too little air and too much moisture are surefire rash recipes. Do not rub but pat and clean your baby’s bottom till completely dry. Always apply diaper cream or ointment after patting and cleaning your baby till fully dry. Limit acidy drinks and foods as citrus juices and fruits often cause rashes. In order to avoid prickly heat rash, always dress your little one in clothes that are loose and lightweight. Cool compresses on the other hand can reduce crankiness. Adding colloidal oatmeal or bath oil to your baby’s warm bath is an effective and easy baby rash treatment. Rashes that come with fever, makes your baby lethargic and weak and in this case your baby will require stronger solutions such as cortisone cream or an antifungal.
