What is India Parenting?

I am an NRI living in US. We shifted here long time ago but Indian values remained intact with us. I want my coming generations to follow Indian values. As we visit India on very few occasions, so, do not have much idea about India Parenting. Could anybody let me know about it, so that I could also groom my child and teach him Indian values.

Good to read that you are so veryinfluenced by the Indian culture and tradition that you want to inculcate this ethosto your child. I personally feel that the type of parenting which is done bythe Indian is praiseworthy and deserves a standing ovation.

Anyways, coming to the point if you reallywant to teach your child the traditional values of Indian culture. Start withtelling the child about giving respect to elders and doing namaskar (hello) towhosoever he meets.

Secondly, you can try making him spiritual anddevelop a sense of spirituality in him. Give him lessons on worshipping differentdeities. If you can follow some Indian rituals then that would be great and youcan actually think of different other Indian methods by which you can teach himthe qualities of becoming a worthy individual.

Teach him the manners to be downto earth and I am sure he will be getting a parenting.
