Do wii exercise games really work?

I am concerned about my health fitness after my pregnancy, and is looking ways to get into my shape again by some effective exercises. I have heard of wii exercise by Nintendo which provides a virtual trainer on the screen of some camera or tab and one can get a real experience of exercising in an effective way and that too at home. But is this really helpful or work in the same manner? How long time will it take take to get me back into slim figure?

Hello! As I am seeing that more and more people are becoming attracted to this Wii fitness game program now a days. Till to day I have found that teenagers or young people are attracted to it. Now I am seeing that new mothers like you are also considering this. What you have found about it is quite right.

This fitness game from Nintendo of Japan has ingeniously merged household fitness training sessions with virtual gaming. In this Wii you have to step on a Balance Board and perform physical exercises via yoga, strength training, aerobics, balance games.

Whatever you do or perform in front of a monitor is translated on the scree in the form of 3D virtual gaming world. It gives kind of relief from monotony of every day exercise. Around the world this has become very popular making Nintendo third most successful best selling console game in history.

But is it helpful to reduce excess fat and bring your figure to shape? I have seen people who have asked this question before. And my research has found that though it has quite ingenuity but it is not effective in giving best to exercise like cardio or weight loss.

Rather it is effective in muscle tone building and retaining balance. You can go through several reviews like www.gamespot.com etc, it has on the net and decide for yourself. Thanks.

Wii exercise games are really amazing. Wii Fit plus takes the whole concept of games as exercise to a new level with the inclusion of a balance board peripheral that can tell you on the fly exactly how well or how poorly, you're doing with its various activities. It's a decent alternative for those bored with the repetitiveness of going to a gym or too self-conscious to join a yoga or aerobics class. So, you can definitely try this as you don't want gymming and stuff. There is wii fit plus weight limit.  With the board able to take only 330lbs (150kg) maximum weight. It is not for person weighing more than that. There are also other shortcomings like you can't create your own program, forced to unlock most activities, fitness and health assessments are problematic, and you can cheat exercises. At the core of the Wii Fit plus experience is the new balance board, an elegant-looking yet surprisingly sturdy peripheral which features several internal scales that can detect changes in weight and pressure as you're standing on it. The board which is also quite hefty at roughly 8.8 lbs (4kgs) and interacts wirelessly with the Wii, and takes four AA batteries (which are included). The board has four rubber feet to help prevent it from slipping on smooth surfaces. Like the Wii Remote before it, the balance board is intuitive to use once you get into an exercise or game in Wii Fit.
